    This is an appropriate book for kids less than 2 years old. It is a vocabulary book that simply lists a bunch of pictures and the words that goes with the pictures. It lists many of the common every day items that you would find in a house. It is not clever and I dare say, it’s not _really_ a Dr. Seuss book The Illustration quality is WAY BELOW AVERAGE compared to ANY picture book for young children.

    Like many books, if its the first one your parents give to you, you will probably love the book. I believe that this is why some other reviewers have raved about this book.

    “In a People House” By Theo LeSieg

    In this book a mouse talks to a bird about what’s in a people house. During their adventure into the house, they go over about what’s in a people house: chairs, roller skates, stairs, bananas, a bathtub, bottles, brooms, scissors and a needle. Also there are buttons, thread, cup, and saucer, a pillow, a bed. There are also doughnuts, doors, a ceiling, a floor, a piano, peanuts, lots of popcorn, and a couple pails of water, a pencil and paper. As you can see there are a lot of different things in a people house. During the end of their little escapade they pile a lot of stuff onto a trashcan. The mouse exclaims, “Look out below! I’m going to CRASH!” After that the mouse mentions the most important item in a people house, people. After they find the people they get thrown out of a people house and finally the bird knows what’s in a people house.

    This book seemed like it might be interesting to read, seeing that a bird and mouse were going to take a tour of a people house, and it turned out to be a pretty fair book. I got a couple laughs from this book and it was worth the couple minutes it took me to read through the two or three words a page.

    The book “In a People House”, is about a bird showing a mouse what there is in a people house. They go inside and look around, they find things like chairs, stairs, dishes, bathtub, bottles, and brooms, scissors, needle, buttons, and thread, basically material things. In the end of the book the bird and the mouse get kicked out by the people who live there. This book is an interesting book for kids because it helps kids to reconize material things. I liked this book because it is about exploring new places and new things.The book “In a People House”, is about a bird showing a mouse what there is in a people house. They go inside and look around, they find things like chairs, stairs, dishes, bathtub, bottles, and brooms, scissors, needle, buttons, and thread, basically material things. In the end of the book the bird and the mouse get kicked out by the people who live there. This book is an interesting book for kids because it helps kids to recognize material things, and it encourages them to try new things. I liked this book because it is about exploring new places and new things.

    This book was purchased for my grandson and he loves it as his father did 25 years ago.
